At
the B-K Ranch, we are committed to raising old-time
stock horses; the kind of horses Granddad would have
worked cattle with and shot varmints off of. Good-natured,
good-minded using horses. Specializing in true foundation-bred
horses, most of our horses are linebred King P-234,
with some Joe Reed, Blackburn, Pretty Buck, Oklahoma
Star, Bert, Joe Hancock, Old Sorrel, Leo, and of course,
Peter McCue thrown in.
Our
quarter horses and paints are foundation-bred top and
bottom; not modern-bred horses with enough foundation
breeding to be registered as such, not the offspring
of mixed blooded mares crossed with foundation-bred
stallions, and certainly not the offspring of good foundation-bred
mares crossed with stallions of whatever bloodline happens
to be currently popular.
Our
Arabians and cross-bred ponies are of performance bloodlines.
Most descend from *Witez II and/or King AQHA 234. Many
of them are very athletic and very good jumpers. We
also have a few small ponies and miniatures. They are
stout and just right for harness.
